On March 16, the Kartuase officially closed. In this unprecedented situation, with the Austrian government ordering the closing of all schools and universities, Franciscan University made the difficult but necessary decision to end the Austrian Program. Following the directives, LCI has suspended all in-person classes.

Most LCI students could not travel to their home countries because it was not safe or not possible because of already-closed borders.

That means they are taking shelter here, in lockdown, and adjusting to the new situation.

All LCI students and staff remain grateful for the many graces of this time, including our health and safety. We are committed to praying for all who need our prayers, and are filled with hope that the Lord will bring about a much greater good from the scourge of the coronavirus!
