Anna is one of two LCI students, at the Kartause for the Spring 2023 semester as part of the Franciscan University Austria Program. She is a university student from Hungary. Here she reflects on her experience so far.

I believe that being part of the LCI program is one of the best things I’ve ever done in my life. It is not only an experience with respect to spending time abroad and meeting wonderful people, but also growing academically and in faith. In academic terms, the university is indeed a very good one and the professors are admirable and ready to help in everything we need.
From the first moment I felt that Gaming is my second home and it holds a special place in my heart. Here, at the Kartause, I live in a dormitory, which helps a lot in getting to know other people. I have already met a lot of amazing friends with whom I’ll keep in touch for sure. Besides taking courses at the university, I am also part of the Ministry to Families program and on Wednesday’s afternoons I take care of four lovely boys.
Also, I am teaching English as a foreign language at the local school which helps me a lot to improve my pedagogical skills. Moreover, we have already travelled to various magnificent places such as St.Pölten, Vienna, Rome and Assisi. Italy was simply amazing due to its special atmosphere and I feel Italy is a place of beautiful memories. We took part in papal audience, visited many beautiful churches and museums, participated in wine tasting, tasted Italian specialties and also offered our help in a soup kitchen for homeless people. More adventures are still coming because next week we’re going to Spain…

I am very grateful for everything you have done for me.

May God bless you all,
Anna H
