One professor and thirteen Catholic university students from the Kollegium Anton Neuwirth in Slovakia joined the Kartause community for a faith and cultural exchange program, February 5-8. Franciscan University and LCI students welcomed them with a home-cooked meal, games and conversation, and invitations to pray and go to classes together.

According to our Slovak guests, the only downside was that the time was too short! They would have preferred to stay longer, a sure sign of the program’s success.

The second part of the exchange took place April 27-29, when students from the Kartause were hosted in Slovakia, and invited to participate in the activities of the Kollegium. A highlight of that visit was Mass and a visit with Cardinal Burke.
